Update -  Stat Manager 2.0 has been released and is available for download

We are proud to announce the preview of Baseball Stat Manager version 2.0. This latest version of our popular team and stat management software for baseball and softball coaches has several exciting new features. Version 2.0 is scheduled to be released in February 2009 and will be a free upgrade for all users of Baseball Stat Manager 1.x. Below is a list of some of the new features in version 2.0:

Scatter Charts

You will soon be able to track the hit placement tendencies of your players using scatter charts. The charts will show the location of each hit or out made by each batter on your team. This information will help show the hitting tendency of a particular batter. For example, if a batter if consistently pulling the ball to one portion of the field, an adjustment in stance or approach in the batter's box may be warranted. The hit placement information can be entered for each player while entering their stats, making it an easy addition to the current process of entering stats for a game. This information can then be viewed in the Scatter Chart screen. Or, the scatter chart can be exported and emailed or printed using the Reporting feature.

Game Lineups

Baseball Stat Manager version 2.0 will also allow coaches to fill out inning-by-inning game lineups. This allows coaches to determine their lineup before game time. The lineup will contain both batting order and fielding positions. Coaches will have the ability to move a player's fielding position between innings. Each player not in the lineup is listed separately to make it easy to view who can by substituted in and substitutions can be made for any inning. The information used in the Game Lineup screen can then be printed or emailed using several different reports. Lineup cards can be created to give to the opposing teams or umpires at game time. An inning-by-inning report can also be created to assist in what substitutions to make during the game

New Statistics

Nine new stats are also being added to version 2.0 of Baseball Stat Manager. These new stats will assist in deeper team and player analysis. The new stats include the following:

G – Game Played – the number of games a player has participated in.

GIDP – Ground into Double Play – the number of double plays a batter has grounded into.

OPS – On-base plus slugging – The sum of the on-base percentage and slugging percentage for a batter.

BS – Blown Save – The number of times a pitcher has blown a save by giving up a lead in a save situation.

G/F – Ground ball/Fly ball ratio – The ratio of ground balls to fly balls that a pitcher allows.

HLD – Hold – The number of time a pitcher gets an out in a save situation without giving up the lead, but is not the last pitcher of the game and does not get the save.

WHIP – Walks and hits per inning pitched – The average number of walks and hits that a pitcher gives up per inning pitched.

BK – Balks – The number of times a pitcher commits a balk.

RF – Range Factor – A fielding statistic used to determine the range that a specific fielder has.

These new statistics will be available on all stats screen and reports.

Reporting Enhancements

The reporting feature has been expanded with new options and several new reports. New for version 2.0, the stats to display on hitting, pitching and fielding reports are now selectable. By default, all stats will be shown on a report, but if desired, certain stats can be omitted from a report.

The following new reports will also be available for version 2.0:

Team Leaders – Report that lists the team leaders for a specific statistic.

Player Stat Sheet – A quick-view report that contains all of a player's hitting, fielding and pitching stats. This is a good report to print and hand out to players.

Scatter Chart – Report showing the scatter chart for a specific player or the whole team.

Game Lineup Reports – Several different reports showing the details of the team's lineup for specific game.
